Wednesday 22nd March 1848 – Foggy, cool atmosphere with snow – Thermometer 30º plus – wind moderate from S.E. at 10 am wind breezed up from N.E. & darkly overcast, indicating more snow.  Boat Dash launched – Afternoon a little snow falling wind E.N.E. – Evening wind & weather as last stated.
