Thursday 27th July 1843. Cloudy, dry, & warm – wind S.W. – anchored here last night – C. F.  Bennett & Co. Whaler, Brig Blandford.  On the whaling account also last night came in J.B.G. & Cos. chartered Schooner.  Jane Vivian; to load new fish, having touched at St. John’s on her way hither – hauled up schooner Caroline to her berth in the dock for repairs – Completely finished hauling up the Caroline about 4 PM schooner Sabina charted by Messrs W. Thomas & Co. St. John’s, to address of Mr. Stoneman & others, to load new fish here.  Afternoon moderate from the south & warm – Evening  S.S.W. Cloudy & warm.
