Saturday 6th July 1850 – Foggy, dense atmosphere and calm – about 8am wind sprang up gently from the S.S.E. – at 10am wind moderate from S.S.W. – Fish is slack in the bight this day, but say caplin plenty – afternoon fine, & warm wind S.W. – Brig Dorothy towed round to Churchill’s to undergo repairs.
